Tony Sagraves

I just received an email from Tony with an update on his cancer and his progress. The news is not good. Out of courtesy for Tony and his privacy, I won't post the email he sent, nor will I elaborate. I'm sure he'll see this post and if he wants to share his situation with everyone, then I'll let him do that.

Regardless, I wanted to post a quick message to ask everyone to keep Tony and his family in your thoughts and prayers. As Ashley can attest, every little thing helps in situations like this.

Everyone please say a prayer for Tony. It really does make a difference. The heart surgeon who operated on my Aunt Betty a month ago said there was no medical explanation for her making it through everything. He told my Uncle Dick to walk into church and show Betty as a modern day miracle.

Thanks Jake- here is a watered down version of the email:

I am pretty sure from the last update i sent out a little over a month ago my 1st set of scans came back bad. So they sent me to MD Anderson. I ran the Anderson program for 2 cycles. Then a week ago last Thursday got my 1 set of scans on the new MD Anderson treatment. Well they came back bad as well. I knew the news was gonna be bad because the hardest part of all this has been dealing with the Pain in my left rib area (It had been getting worse - I just had been keeping that info from my mother and others, because they have enough to worry about). Well it seems the cancer has progressed- through the treatment- into 2 different spots in my left rib area - NOT in the bones themselves yet, but in the area.
So Monday I started yet again a 3rd different chemo treatment. I'll go once a week for 2 weeks then 1 week off/rinse/repeat. Well I took the treatment on Monday and I felt pretty good - slept ok that night. Woke up Tuesday at 6am and felt great - So great I sat down in front of the computer and spent the next 3-3.5 hours working out my action plans for my stores. At around 9:30ish I turned the shower on - went to the restroom(not in the shower :P) and - for the 1st time since before my surgery I had blood in my urine. Needless to say it frightened me. I turned off the shower dried off and went straight to drink a large glass of water. A few minutes later I went to the restroom again - this time passing blood and a clot. So I called the DR. and my mother. I go Thursday to see my Urologist Dr. Rick Smith who performed my surgery. As of right now I know nothing, but of course I think the worse. I continue to work as best I can- I am very thankful to be surrounded by people who care. I will keep everyone informed as best I can. Thanks to those of you who have emailed me and Thx to Dave Dixon for the phone calls. Sometimes it takes me a bit to return call – I sometimes don’t feel like talking.
